Jordan Lochner Mills, CFP®

Principal, Senior Financial Advisor | Advisors, Principals

You wouldn’t expect a finance major to learn an important lesson teaching English, at a grade school outside of Venice, Italy. In the summer of 2005, University of Minnesota alum Jordan Mills did just that: She learned that understanding comes from simplifying complex ideas—whether they are the basics of finance or the obscure rules of English grammar. As a Senior Financial Advisor at Wipfli Financial, Jordan has made simplification a cornerstone of her client service approach for wealth management and investment planning.

Prior to joining Wipfli Financial, Jordan worked for five years as a Private Client Associate for Bernstein Global Wealth Management. She directed her efforts toward diversifying and minimizing risk in clients’ portfolios and thrived on helping clients understand their financial choices. Before her tenure at Bernstein, Jordan worked as a Financial Advisor at Ameriprise Financial for seven years. Jordan shaped her client service strategy during this time: “Take all those numbers, simplify them and give them personal meaning in the context of real-life impact on clients’ lives.”

“Financial planning is a mystery to many people and something that causes undue worry and stress. I want to take the stress away from dealing with money and investing and help people achieve their goals in life.” At Wipfli Financial, simplification is Jordan’s personal service strategy and goal; to translate numbers and data into clear, accessible concepts for her clients. Jordan applies the same simplification to her own financial planning as she does for her clients’ investments. She hopes both her family and her clients’ families will be fortunate enough to continue to do what they are passionate about in the future.

Outside of the office, Jordan enjoys spending time with her husband, two children and two dogs. She and her husband are also passionate about traveling—having already visited New Orleans, Los Angeles, London, Paris, Maui, Puerto Rico, Aruba, Mexico, Rarotonga and many more locales.

Dealing with finances can get overly complicated and take up a lot of one’s time. I want to help streamline and simplify people’s financial lives so they can spend more time doing what they enjoy.
